Itineraries Combining Coastal and Inland Turkey's Highlights
Gulets are built by craftsmen, by hand from local pine and mulberry on the Turkish Mediterranean coast, and from local oak and chestnut on the Black Sea. Their superstructures are usually of teak, iroko or mahogany. These boats are equipped with motors as well as fully functional ketch, schooner, guletta or gaff riggings.
