This Komodo itinerary is designed for guests seeking a more exploratory yacht charter through one of Indonesia’s most distinctive cruising regions. The route moves between volcanic islands, reef-fringed bays, protected marine areas, and dramatic coastlines, offering a strong balance of adventure and relaxation.

From the calm waters around Tatawa Island to the pink sands of Pantai Merah, the rugged landscapes of Komodo Island, and the wildlife-rich environment of Rinca, each stop reveals a different side of the national park. The itinerary remains flexible, allowing adjustments for weather, wildlife viewing, snorkeling conditions, hiking, and quiet overnight anchorages.

Note: The itinerary is always weather permitting. The skipper is happy to discuss next day's route daily with guests to ensure the best possible experience.

Day One

Labuan Bajo

Arrive in Labuan Bajo and board your yacht for the start of your Komodo charter. After a welcome briefing, enjoy a gentle cruise toward a nearby sheltered anchorage to settle into the experience. The afternoon is ideal for relaxing onboard, swimming, or taking in the first views of the surrounding islands. Overnight near Labuan Bajo or in a calm bay close to the park entrance.

Day Two

Tatawa Island

Cruise toward Tatawa Island, known for clear waters, coral reefs, and calm cruising conditions. The island offers a relaxed introduction to Komodo’s marine environment, with opportunities for snorkeling, swimming, and time on deck. Its surrounding waters are rich in color and movement, creating a strong first full day on the water. Evening is best spent at anchor with uninterrupted views of the national park.

Day Three

Pantai Merah

Continue to Pantai Merah, one of Komodo’s most recognisable beaches, known for its soft pink sand and clear shallow waters. Arrive by yacht for a scenic approach, with the beach framed by rugged hills and reef-lined coastline. Spend the day swimming, snorkeling, or relaxing ashore in one of the park’s most iconic settings. Overnight nearby in a sheltered anchorage.

Day Four

Komodo Island

A short cruise brings you to Komodo Island, the best-known island within the national park. The landscape is rugged and dramatic, with dry hills, sheltered bays, and a strong sense of remoteness. Guests may arrange a guided visit ashore to learn about the island’s wildlife and protected environment. The afternoon can be spent cruising along the coastline or swimming in a calm bay.

Day Five

Padar Island

Cruise to Padar Island, one of the most dramatic landscapes in the Komodo region. The island is known for its curved bays, steep ridgelines, and panoramic viewpoints overlooking beaches of different colors. Spend the day exploring by tender, swimming in sheltered waters, or hiking ashore for one of the region’s most memorable views. Overnight at anchor beneath Padar’s striking hills.

Day Six

Rinca Island

Sail toward Rinca Island, another key wildlife area within Komodo National Park. The island is quieter than Komodo but equally atmospheric, with dry hills, mangrove edges, and protected waters. A guided visit ashore offers the chance to experience the park’s natural environment from a different perspective. The day ends with a calm anchorage surrounded by wild coastal scenery.

Day Seven

Labuan Bajo

Enjoy a final morning cruise back toward Labuan Bajo, with breakfast onboard and views of the Komodo islands along the way. The return journey offers time to relax on deck and take in the last stretch of island scenery. Arrive at the marina for a smooth disembarkation, concluding the charter with easy onward travel arrangements.
